Notenblatt. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Viennese masterpieces from the late 18th century by Leopold HofmannAlthough he was by profession a church musician, holding the position of Kapellmeister at St Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna from 1772 until his death 1793, Leopold Hofmann was also a prolific and successful composer of instrumental works. While they adopt many of the structural and stylistic conventions established by Wagenseil in his concerti, these works also display progressive tendencies in their musical structures and an energy and purpose, particularly in their finales, that draws its inspiration from Hofmann's symphonies.…

Zustand: New. 3 Violinen, 2 Violen, Violoncello Stimmensatz . The string quintet, like the trio for violin, viola and violoncello, was not a popular medium in Vienna in the middle decades of the 18th Century. The origin of Ignaz Pleyel's interest in the quintet is unclear and it seems more likely that Pleyel's inter.…

Zustand: New. Streichquartett Stimmensatz . The string quartet as a genre was still relatively new in Paris by the time these works were composed. During the 1760s quartets by a number of foreign composers Haydn, foremost among them had been issued by Parisian publishers, but these works had no.

Zustand: New. Streichorchester Stimmensatz . The string quartet holds pride of place in Bologne de Saint-Georges instrumental works, with three sets of six works each. With neat but surely unintentional symmetry these quartets include his first and last instrumental works, the Six quatuors à cordes.

Zustand: New. Violine, Orchester Partitur . Leopold Hofmann's technical command of the instrument and his experience as a performer no doubt exerted a strong influence on his writing for the solo instrument. There is no evidence that his violin concertos were intended for his own use. Nonetheless.

In the eighteenth century the symphonie concertante assumed two broad styles: a work that was fundamentally symphonic in conc.…

Saint-Georges published his concertos and symphonies concertantes in pairs, typically with one work scored for strings alone and the second with wind instruments. The two Concertos Op.7, published in Paris by Bailleux in 1777, are no exception. The first.

This evidence takes the form of an elaborately embellished version of the second movement which is bou.

Pleyel's output of concertos is comparatively small although the works were issued in numerous editions by European publishing houses during his lifetime. Perhaps the most confusing aspect of the Pleyel concertos is the existence of multiple versions of t.…
