Zustand: Very Good. 1st Edition. 8vo,(7) pp224 plus 2 pages of adverts to rear, complete with 11 b/w illustrations (including frontis with tissue guard) by Alfred Parsons and the two errata slips. Hardcover no dust jacket. Original binding of cream cloth with gilt titles to spine and gilt bamboo design to front board in very good condition with a tiny bit of discolouration to spine and a few marks to boards. Inside a little foxing to endpapers and some sporadic foxing throughout, but pages, with top edge gilt, mostly clean and bright and comes with its own dried bamboo leaf. A very nice copy of this book that was the first book on the cultivation of bamboos in European temperate climates and remained the only text on the subject until the 1960s.
