No Binding. Zustand: Very Good. First. A fine original colour lithograph from Vanity Fair, a magazine which was published from 1869-1914, featuring a large caricature portrait each week. These were drawn by various artists, the most famous of whom was Leslie Ward who used the 'nom de crayon' of "Spy". This portrait will come mounted/matted and ready to frame using archivist quality materials, mount size 18 x 12 inches, 47 x 31 cms. It will be presented in a cellophane wrapper with our label guaranteeing authenticity. We pack very well, between sheets of hardboard. This is an excellent opportunity to purchase a portrait of the Duke of Hamilton, with the caption "Premier Peer of Scotland". With accompanying biographical details. First Edition, Second Issue (Yale and the National Library of Scotland also record copies dated 1843). Fête book celebrating the arrival home in Hamilton, Scotland, of the newly married Marquis of Douglas, later the Eleventh Duke of Hamilton, and his bride, her Serene Highness the Princess Marie Amélie, daughter of HRH Charles, late Grand Duke of Baden. The Marquis was the grandson of William Beckford of Fonthill Abbey. Some fifty thousand people from all ranks of society gathered to welcome the couple.
