Copy of a lecture delivered in 1876 covering the history of the docks and berths on the Thames in London from earliest times to the 1870 and with proposals for the further development of the facilities. 75pp. 2 folding engravings and 12 fold out plans of the docks showing various proposals over the years - these are the probably most interesting aspect of the book. Contnets are generally VG, the engraved frontis is slighty stained, but otherwise the plates and maps are VG and clean. The cloth boards are rather worn with the lower half rather rubbed, rear hinge weak. Rare.
