Throughout his career, he advocated for civic beautification, and he became a leader in the conservation movement of the early twentieth century. These early experiences instilled the passion for horticultural beauty and the business expertise that distinguished him personally and professionally. He eventually purchased his father's press. Combining the skills learned from these early experiences, he established a successful printing company of his own. He founded the J. Horace McFarland Company/Mount Pleasant Press, specializing in seed catalogs and nursery trade publications. Over the course of his lifetime, McFarland wrote and lectured extensively on horticulture, printing methods, and civic improvement. McFarland was a prominent member of the American Rose Society. Sobre a obra Contratos, Família e Sucessões Diálogos Interdisciplinares - 4ª Ed - 2025 "O fenômeno de contratualização das relações familiares e das relações sucessórias, tão bem caracterizado na presente obra, confirma a versão de que, no hodierno marco político e jurídico vigente, o Estado somente deve limitar as liberdades individuais em nome de iguais liberdades individuais, ou seja, na exata medida da proteção da vulnerabilidade, seja em qualquer uma de suas possíveis facetas. Na ausência da necessidade de tutela de vulnerabilidades, o Estado deve sobrelevar seu compromisso democrático de valorização da autonomia dos indivíduos na condução de seus interesses individuais, em nome da defesa de um projeto constitucional ancorado sobre as bases do pluralismo e da dignidade da pessoa humana. Alexandre Dumas aurait composé ces pseudo-Mémoires de Catherine-Charlotte de Gramont (1639-1678) en collaboration avec la comtesse Dash. Ces "Mémoires" sont en fait une biographie romancée de l'épouse de Louis Ier de Monaco. Catherine et son époux furent appelés à la cour de France. La princesse devint surintendante de la maison d'Henriette d'Angleterre, belle-sur de Louis XIV. Sa grande beauté lui attira de nombreux courtisans. La cour la surnomma "le Torrent" et Mme de Sévigné la décrit comme "vorace de plaisirs". Elle mena une vie aventureuse, partagée entre les intrigues de la cour de Louis XIV avec lequel elle entretint une relation en 1665, son amour pour le duc de Lauzun et ses séjours à Monaco.
