Hallet's purpose for this book was to reveal the ugliness of big game hunting, and to dispel early twentieth century portrayals of "the romance of hunting on the African savannah". The author spent his career as a conservationist and sociologist. A tiny separation between the backstrip and textblock; jacket is price-clipped with a touch of edge wear.
