Broccoli first came to Hollywood in the 1930s, where he met his "lifelong friend," Howard Hughes, and began working his way up in the business -- eventually moving to England, where (along with Harry Saltzman) he initiated the immensely successful James Bond film franchise. Respected co-author Donald Zec (1919-2021) wrote a popular showbiz column for the Daily Mirror. Nach Saltzmans Rückzug war Broccoli ab 1975 alleiniger Produzent von vier Filmen, bevor er ab 1985 zusammen mit seinem Stiefsohn Michael G. Wilson noch an drei Filmen arbeitete.
