Paperback. 4to. Stiff tan wrappers bound with two 2-prong brass clasps. 67pp (rectos only). Very good. Mild wear to outer wrappers (only). Probable sole edition of this script for "The Dick Powell Show," production #4721, revised on 1 June 1961, produced and directed by Ralph Nelson and with Powell as executive producer. "The Dick Powell Show" (1961-63) was a drama and comedy anthology series hosted by actor/producer/director/singer/studio executive Powell (1904-63), who occasionally acted in it. "John J. Diggs" featured Dick Powell in the lead role, together with Rhonda Fleming, and was intended as a pilot for an adventure series that was never developed. It aired on October 17, 1961, the fourth episode of the first season. Typical film script, typed and mimeographed on one side only and with text stock that alternates from orange to blue to green. Interestingly, at upper left of the front wrapper "1st Hunter / Joe Haworth" is penned in blue ballpoint. Perhaps character actor Haworth (1914-2000) tried out for the "First Hunter" small role listed in the cast?

Vintage publicity photograph from the 1950 film, showing actors Jimmy Durante and Donald O'Connor. Provenance stamp and annotation in manuscript pencil on the verso. After a war trauma, a young man is left with a peculiar coping mechanism: under stress, he quacks like a duck. Although he is the son of a milk magnate, his oddity ensures that he will never be hired by his father, leading him to seek employment with his father's business rival. From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s. 10 x 8 inches. Very Good plus.
