Peckinpah's last film, an espionage thriller based on the 1972 Robert Ludlum novel, about the host of an investigative news program who is recruited by the CIA to gather information on three of his friends, suspected of being Soviet agents of the Omega network. 9.5 x 7 inches. Original conceptual artwork the 1960 film. Featuring a drawing of Burt Lancaster with Audrey Hepburn clasped against him. Based on the 1957 novel by Alan Le May. In many ways a reflection on John Ford's 1956 film "The Searchers," which was also based on an Alan Le May novel, "The Unforgiven" tells the story of a woman taken from her Native American tribe and raised by a white family. She struggles with her allegiance towards her adoptive family and her feelings towards another white man, and a bloody battle ensues between the two communities. An uncommon film for its time, it highlights the racism Native Americans had to endure from settlers of the Old West. A difficult shoot, which included a severe back injury sustained by Audrey Hepburn when she fell off a horse, director John Huston was unhappy with his producer's insistence on releasing a more commercially friendly film. While Hepburn and Huston would both eventually distance themselves from the film, "The Unforgiven" remains a bold, powerfully raw take on the Western with arguably some of the best performances of many of the actors involved. 20 x 25.5 inches. Unbound. Zustand: Near Fine. A collection of 25 decorative title cards for a range of motion pictures released between 1952 -1960. Each measures approximately 14" x 11". There is some wear to the extremities, a few scattered creases, and a bit of rubbing, but overall near fine with surprisingly bright colors. Each card has been screenprinted on the verso of a large movie poster that was cut into sections to match the dimensions of a typical lobby card. Movie theaters would occasionally commission local sign makers to produce lobby cards for display. The production symbols on many of the cards indicate they were created in the same years as the films they represent. Among the most notable titles in the collection are: *From Here to Eternity*, *Shane*, *Duel in the Sun*, *Stalag 17*, and *Gidget*. An attractive set of mid-century film memorabilia.
