Der Text stammt von August Karl Silberstein (1827 - 1900), der sich 1848 als Schriftführer im Ausschuß der akademischen Legion publizistisch für die Ziele der Revolution eingesetzt hatte und nach seiner Emigration als freier Schriftsteller und Herausgeber des "Österreichischen Volkskalenders" lebte. Der besondere Wert dieses Albums liegt aber in den nach Adolf Obermüllner (1833 - 1898), der einer der beliebtesten Alpenmaler seiner Zeit in Wien war, von Conrad Grefe farbig lithographierten Ansichten entlang dieser Eisenbahnstrecke.
