The specific objectives of the study were examined , the degree of cordiality and adversity of the relationship between management and staff and how these influence positively or negatively customer relations of banking organizations, a case study of Sahel Sahara Bank. The study is to assist the management of banking organization towards ensuring improved customer relations by offering incentives, customers' relations training for employees and organizing seminars and workshops to raise employees' level of professionalism.The researcher employed the quota sampling technique to specifically make a selection of the groups of management, staff, customers and other users of the Bank to whom questionnaires were administered until the required numbers of respondents were reached. In all, sixty (60) questionnaires were distributed. Out of these, ten (10) were administered to the management of the bank, twenty (20) to its employees and thirty (30) to customers who had visited to transact business at the bank's premises on those faithful days of questionnaires administration.The study revealed that management and customers to the Bank asserted that customer relation training were the best tool for building customer relations to provide the needed skills for quality service delivery. Employees were also of the opinion that monetary incentive or rewards though important might not do much in improving customer relations but rather receiving customer relations training would equipped them better. There is therefore the need for management of banking organizations particularly the Sahel Sahara Bank to integrate their roles and efforts towards the facilitation of the customer relations training since employees as well as customer to the Bank rated it as the most workable measure.

Inadequate financial resources can undermine the effective implementation of developmental projects in MMDAs. Budgets are important as they prudently manage scarce financial resources and at the same time serve as a means of expenditure authorization, control and evaluation base. MMDAs in Ghana, prepare budgets but deal with it in lesser extent, unlike the profit-making organizations which consider budget and budgetary controls important element in their policies. It is against this background that this study was carried out to find ways by which MMDAS especially AEDA can use budgeting and budgetary controls as management tools to prudently enhance their financial management system for local development. The case study approach was used in the study. Interviews and questionnaires were used to solicit data for the study.The research found out among other things that MMDAs prepare budgets and control the budgets. The research data evidently prove that in the case of Ada East District Assembly, this is true. However, poor budget formulation and implementation and low revenue generation base make it difficult for MMDAs to live up to their responsibility as partners to the central government in national development. Recommendations and suggestions have accordingly been made to improve upon budgeting and budgetary controls in MMDAs and the nation as a whole.

This study reveals that, revenue acquired from this type of tax is considered very crucial in the development of the country, hence a major source of revenue to the government.Direct tax was introduced in Ghana to subject the assessable income of income earners to tax, but unfortunately in Ghana, the collection of tax is confronted with numerous problems and thus tax evasion, tax avoidance, improper books of account, non-compliance of tax laws and inadequate logistics.This research therefore aims at evaluating the effectiveness of direct tax administration in the informal sector in Ghana. Questionnaires were administered to five (5) staff members of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and twenty-five (25) to the traders of the Abossey Okai environs.A simple sampling technique was used to aid in the selection of respondents. Responses from the IRS staff and the traders of the Abossey Okai environs were tabulated and analyzed.The study finds out that the traders in Abossey Okai are ignorant about what direct tax is about. However one major recommendation is for IRS to make it their priority to embark on educational programs for the traders in the Abossey Okai environs in order to enhance the effectiveness of direct tax administration in the informal sector in Ghana.

The main objective for this study was to examine how competitive tendering could be used as an effective tool to achieve value for money in public sector procurement at the Ahanta West District Assembly. The researcher administered twenty (20) questionnaires to some selected departments in the organization, specifically the procurement unit, the stores department, the accounting department and then the engineering department. The researcher used purposive sampling as a technique to gather ample information for this work. By purposive sampling, the researcher targeted those departments within the organization whose daily activities have direct bearing on procurement. Information gathered were analyzed critically and presented in the form of tables which is readily understandable. It was found out from the analyses that the Ahanta West District Assembly uses the competitive tendering methods in awarding most of their contracts thereby procuring goods, works and services at affordable and competitive prices. However the major problem identified was that, the processes involved are seen to be complex more especially for some contractors and those employees who have little knowledge in procurement when it comes to works and also the problem of political interference .The researcher finally recommended that series of workshops and seminars should be organized for both procurement officers especially new ones who have little knowledge in practical procurement when it comes to works and potential contractors so that they will have more insight into what goes into the preparations or processing of tender documents and lastly the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) should institute measures to monitor the adherence to the public procurement Act 663 in all public institutions.
