Neuware -Multispectral analysis employed for palm related authentication uses light illumination in visible range (Red, Green, Blue) and Near Infrared (NIR) for capturing images, it combines the different information from different sources to enhances the performance of the system using a phenomenon termed as Biometric fusion. For this work, Multispectral Palmprint recognition was investigated using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) for images under different illuminations. Biometric fusion at image level was proposed where images captured under different illuminations were concatenated as triple (R,B,NIR and G,B,NIR) and a combination of four illuminations(R,G,B,NIR) accompanied by extraction of feature vectors from PCA space with incorporation of the K-Nearest Neighbour (K-NN) in the classification process. Experiments for the proposed approach were carried out on the PolyU Multispectral Database. In Pakistan it causes economic losses of Rs. 20.5 billion annually. The diagnosis of PPR infection in sheep and goats populations can be synergistically strengthened with detection of antigen in clinical samples of susceptible population. In present study the PPR virus antigen detection was investigated and compared in clinical samples of sheep and goats by Haemagglutination (HA) test, Agar gel immunodiffusion (AGID) and Immunocapture ELISA (IC-ELISA). The viral antigen was detected from 8.95% of the samples tested by AGID, 20.9% tested by HA test and 31.25% tested by IC-ELISA. Kappa statistics scores for HA versus AGID, IC-ELISA versus AGID and HA versus IC-ELISA were 0.45 (95% Confidence Interval CI 0.158-0.742), 0.359 (95% CI 0.01-0.69) and 0.035 (95% CI -0.309-0.694) respectively which indicate a non-significant agreement between the tests. Present study was designed to have an insight into the molecular epidemiology of PPR in the country and to investigate the persistence and transmission of PPR virus using molecular tools under field conditions. Overall, disease affected all three age groups of sheep and goats but the younger animals were more severely affected with a morbidity rate of 37.19%. The results of the phylogenetic tree indicated that all Pakistani PPRV strains were clustered in lineage IV which is the most prominent and prevalent lineage of Asia. Based on serology of 19575 serum samples from sheep and goats, 27.53 percent of the samples were positive for PPR antibodies. PPR viral antigen was detected in fecal matter for one month following vaccination. In contrast the unvaccinated animals shed virus antigen in fecal material for up to two months following outbreak resolution.
