Harold Alexander Abramson (1899 ? 1980) was an American physician (allergist and pediatrician) remembered as an early advocate of therapeutic LSD. While at Mount Sinai Hospital in 1953, Abramson proposed an $85,000 study to the CIA on the effects of LSD on unwitting hospital patients. This was the same year that the MKULTRA program was established. Funding for the project was funneled through the Macy Foundation. Abramson was an allergist best known for his connection to the secret CIA organization MK-Ultra, which aided by a grant from the Geschickter Fund for Medical Research, a rather secretive organization that, in 1977, *The New York Times* reported had been used by the CIA as a conduit for distributing funds to medical researchers mostly for experimentation with LSD-25. Abramson gained some level of notoriety for being the physician associated with the mysterious death of Frank Olson, the scientist who fell from a hotel window under mysterious circumstances, after earlier being dosed with LSD without his permission. Netflix produced a six-part docudrama on the incident, called *Wormwood*, in 2017, with Bob Balaban as Abramson. This title is very uncommon in jacket.
