L'autore pubblicò la maggior parte dei sui scritti presso l'editore parmense, Giuseppe Paganino. Raro ed interessante trattatello, pubblicato anonimo, ma scritto dall'Abate Michele Colombo, sulla travagliata questione dei rapporti intelletto-immaginazione, ragione-fantasia, tanto cara ai letterati tra '700 e '800. ''Questa lezione ci è sembrata a più riguardi esemplare. Facile, piana, condita di opportuna erudizione, scritta con certa castigatezza elegante ci ha fatto pensare che sia opera d'ingegno maturo'' (Antologia, Giornale di Scienze, Lettere e Arti, N. 55, Luglio 1825). ''L'egregio autore tocca al solito con incredibil chiarezza molte ardue parti della metafisica, e ne discorre sì francamente che il lettore è costretto a collocarlo tra i grandi filosofi ond'egli ragiona.''
