This large hard cover book (8 ¼ x 11 inches, 238 pages) was published by Hastings House of New York, dated 1954 and presumably a First Edition. The book is inscribed by the Author on the front endpaper. The book is bound in blind-stamped dark blue cloth with silver gilt titles on the spine, and protected by a glossy, pictorial dust jacket, itself protected by a mylar sheath. The book is well illustrated, with both vintage b&w photos and reproductions of railroad related paintings. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The dust jacket shows some light wear, mostly to the corner of the rear cover. The hard covers are clean and unbumped. Inside, the book is inscribed by the Author on the front endpaper but this is the only mark I found in the book. The interior pages and plates are clean and bright. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.…
