Engraved half-title. Title page with publisher's device and border ruling. All text pages with red and gray ruling. Historiated headpieces. Decorative initials in red and black and endpieces. Illustrated with 19 collotypes mounted to gray heavy paper stock with decorative framing and captions, one full page woodcut and additional 19 in-text woodcuts. A picture cycle for the furnishing of an upper class residence with artistic interior by W. Friedrich and others with six additional pages of text compare to the first edition. This intricate publications covers the furnishing and design in various styles, e.g. German Renaissance, Italian Renaissance, Gothic, modern, etc. and examples designed after existing rooms of other residences. The book features a nursery, a reception room, a bathroom, dining room, "music room," boudoir, study, hunter's hall, living room, the hall, bower, study, vestibule, kitchen, guest room, library, bedroom, servant's quarter, salon, a villa and garden terrace. The samples were usually obtained in separate shipments and are here published in one volume covering all aspects of a luxurious residence. Text in German. Binding lightly rubbed with minor wear to edges and corners. Front endpaper missing. Some smudging of half-title not affecting image as well as in margins of other pages. Some of the pages and plates wavy near gutter. Binding and interior in overall very good condition.
