Hardcover. Zustand: Fine. 1st Edition. Wonderful antique book, full maroon leather stamped with gilt titles and cover illustration of two angels, 4to. over 9 3/4" to 12" tall, pages are not numbered. Inside of cover has gold gilt stampings around the edges. Inside pastedown has blue/white cloth like attachment with gilt lettering. Illustrated with one hundred superb engravings made direct from the world's greatest paintings of Our Lord. Each one is preceded by tissue paper with dedicated text. Cover shows heavy wear to the spine area, the edges and corners, the cover is loose, but still attached. Pages are age toned, text is clean with no writing or tears, slight musty smell.
