There is some pulling/thin hinge crack at the half title page but otherwise binding is good. Pages show light toning but are overall clean with the exception of a few scattered spots and foxing marks. No other handwriting than what is on the first end page. The front pastedown shows some creases along the bottom edge and there are some creases along the bottom throughout the book. The Foreword describes the book as "A Pocket Guide intended to serve the immediate needs of field artillerymen in the Army of the United States, not with the idea of making them expert in any particular detail, but that they may have a general understanding of the fundamentals of their duties.".
