DJ is quite tattered and soiled and is in two pieces along with a small piece of tape at the top of the spine where there is also a piece missing. The front of the jacket also has a faint name written in pencil just to the left of the title. The red cloth boards underneath or clean and crisp. The only issues being some light bubbling of the cloth at the bottom of the rear board and there is some small specks of green paint (which matches the paint on the illustration) just below the author's name on the front. There is also some minor bumping present on the outside turn-in edges. The internal binding is good, no bad hinge issues other than some pulling at page 191. Paper is toned due to age but pages are clean with only minor foxing. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting found. The front end page does have a rough spot in the upper right corner where it is likely someone erased a price at one time. No publication date listed (ca 1901) but this is part of the publishers Henty series, with the title listed as number four on the back of the jacket. H. M. Paget (illustrator).…
