The contents are a touch dog eared, the wraps are a little grubby & worn with a touch of loss to the head & foot of the spine. The start of the handbook is given over to general information and description of the steamers in the fleet, the remainder is a comprehensive topographical guide to the Bristol Channel ports and resorts - Bristol, Weston super Mare, Ilfracombe, Minehead, Cardiff, Newport etc. For over 50 years Campbell's 'White Funnel Fleet' paddle steamers were to be seen proudly plying the Bristol Channel but by the end of the 1950s the excursion trade was in terminal decline and the company went into receivership in 1959.
