A rather uncommon book by this German theoretical and mathematical physicist who made significant contributions to quantum mechanics and quantum field theory, but whose reputation was diminished by his right wing views, including joining the Nazi Party in 1933, although he continued to support Einstein's theories. This book was published after he was declared "rehabilitated' and returned to his position as a tenured professor at the University of Hamburg. Translated by Ralph Manheim. A bit of handling on the top edge and has been folded horizontally in the center. Toning on the top inch. 6 by 9.25 inches. The Poem is from Poor Robin's Almanack, 1701. Poor Robin was an English 17th and 18th-century satirical almanac series, appearing as Poor Robin's Almanack from 1663. Other similar writings by the pseudonymous Poor Robin were published later, in America and into the 19th century. Grant Dahlstrom bought the Castle Press in Pasadena, and for the next thirty-seven years produced many handsome books for the Book Club of California, the Huntington Library, The Sacramento Book Collectors Club, Dawson's Book Shop, Jake Zeitlin, and many others. In 1931, he helped to found the Rounce & Coffin Club and was also active in the Zamorano Club, printing the Club's newsletter, Hoja Volante. H. Richard Archer (1911-1978) was the former custodian and director of the Rare Book Collection at Chapin Library at Williams College.

An Josef Wesely: "[] Für Ihre alljährlich so treu wiederkehrenden Geburtstagswünsche sage ich Ihnen meinen besten Dank und grüße Sie herzlichst []" - Armin Kaufmann studierte bis 1928 Musik in Brünn und an der Hochschule für Musik in Wien und war bis 1938 Mitglied des Rothschild-Quartetts, mit dem er Tourneen durch ganz Europa unternahm. Nach dessen von den Nationalsozialisten erzwungener Auflösung wurde Kaufmann Mitglied der Wiener Symphoniker und wirkte hier bis 1966 als Stimmführer der zweiten Geigen. Daneben machte er sich als Komponist zahlreicher Orchesterwerke - darunter vier Symphonien, Kammermusik sowie Konzerte für Soloinstrumente und Orchester - einen Namen. 1950 und 1966 wurde er mit dem Österreichischen Staatspreis für Musik ausgezeichnet. - Mit Adreßstempel.
