Original-Kupferstich von Jardinier (in der Platte signiert) auf rückseitig unbedrucktem Büttenkarton, bildliche Darstellung ca. 11 x 10 cm, Kartongröße ca. 19 x 13,5 cm, unter Schrägschnitt-Passepartout montiert, sauber und sehr gut erhalten, sehr selten und für uns nur in der Pariser Nationalbibliothek nachweisbar 2100 gr.

Legatura ottocentesca in mezza pelle con titoli dorati sul dorso e nome dell?antico proprietario sul piatto anteriore, in ottavo cm 16.5 x 11.5, pp XVI 155 (5), 12 tavole incise in fine, di cui una ripiegata. Collana Biblioteca Scelta di Opere Francesi, tomo XXIV. Lievi segni d?uso sulla legatura; rifilate le carte, il che si nota soprattutto sulle tavole, con didascalie al limite del margine e numerazione talora tagliata. Prima edizione italiana del celebre Méthode d?Équitation Basée sur de nouveaux principes del cavaliere e maestro d'equitazione François Baucher. L'innovativo metodo, apparso per la prima volta nel 1842, ebbe uno straordinario successo e numerose edizioni in breve tempo; l'opera è dedicata al generale Oudinot, aiuto di campo del duca d'Orléans e presidente della commissione incaricata di riformare l'equitazione militare francese. Questa versione italiana è condotta sulla quarta francese e ne conserva nell?introduzione ii vari documenti di Oudinot e altri ufficiali a sostegno delle tesi dell'autore. In calce al volume presente un breve elenco di opere pubblicate dall'editore. Second edition, entirely reworked and considerably enlarged of a work of scientific and medical interest, containing much information about atmospheric electricity, its effects on the human system, and the cure of illnesses by the application of positive or negative electricity. Bertholon (1742-1800), a French physician and a friend of Benjamin Franklin, studied electricity extensively, dividing illnesses into the electrical and the non-electrical. His other works include (I)De l'Electricité des Végétaux(/I) and (I)De l'Électricité des Météores(/I). He also devised a method of foretelling earthquakes. First and last few pages very lightly foxed, otherwise a good, crisp set with a Latin inscription in a neat contemporary hand inside back cover of volume II. Wheeler Gift Catalogue 533.
