Inner frontpanel with a modern illustrated large-paper exlibris of the previous french owner. --- Bindings somewhat rubbed, heads of spines partly rubbed-off, frontjoints partly split towards the ends, sharp corners stronger rubbed, frames of endpapers with glue-shadow from the inner panels; OVERALL AN ACCEPTABLE SET OF THIS EXTENSIVE AND DETAILD REPORT OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF CIVIL RIGHTS AGAINST THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH. It was put on the 'Index Librorum Prohibitorum' and its author in prisonfor the last twelve years of his life!

L'autore non è che «il primo e più caratteristico assertore del laicismo antiecclesiastico; predicatore della crociata regalista a Napoli, di cui il ministro Tanucci fu l'organizzatore» (Casati, III, 154). La sua Storia civile venne messa all'Indice. Book.

Panel edges rubbed and worn as with age, with some surface wear and scuffs to boards and spine covers. Corners bumped. Scattered foxing, with some light tanning around the margins. Remains quite well-preserved overall.
