The Belgian Browning Pistols is the first work of its kind to concentrate on the early Browning pistols and the many contract variations. The work is the product of years of research and collaboration between the author, collectors, European museums, ministries and the factory, The goal of this publication is to educate collectors and to shed light on the many contracts and pistols. The Belgian Browning Pistols is set up in an easy reference format to assist both novice and advanced collectors. The history of Belgium, the factory and Liege are included to broaden the perspective one may have about the environment where these pistols were made and often used. The Belgian Browning Pistols is primarily intended for the U.S. collector's market and includes many of the pistols encountered in the United States. The book includes the 1899 compact, 1889 Large, 1900, 1903, Grand Browning, 1910, 1922, Grand Rendement, and High Power pistols. Licensed copies like the 1907 Husqvarna and Inglis High Power pistol are also included. Most of this work is set up chronologically to facilitate study. A photographic chapter on holsters was also added to further aid collectors. The FN Browning pistols were the most distributed pistols throughout history. The Belgian Browning Pistols is an excellent reference guide to understand where and when these contracts were filled. Both the Book and the Dust Jacket are in Very Fine As New condition. Bound in illustrated paper covered cloth boards with titles present to the spine and front board. Boards have light shelf-wear present to the extremities. No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. This book covers nearly every facet of FN/Browning history, not just the pistols. Starting with the earliest Browning designs and following through the the HP-35 "High Power" design, the book is both well illustrated and researched. A lot of focus is placed on the earlier designs, most of which don't get the appropriate level of respect from collectors. High quality and detailed photos of all the pistols are shown, along with the accessories for each. There is even a pretty well done section on Browning history, that covers some of their other commercial ventures outside the firearms world. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 416 pages.
