Judy Holliday (1921-1965) won an academy award for her role in the film version of "Born Yesterday". Accused of being associated with communism, she was called to testify before the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee in 1952. With the help of her mentor Jean Dalrymple, Judy came through unscathed and found sanctuary with the New York theater community. She co-starred with romantic lead Sydney Chaplin in the Broadway production of "Bells Are Ringing" from 1956 to 1959, recreating the role for the movie version opposite Dean Martin in 1960. The second son of Charlie Chaplin and Lita Grey, Sydney Chaplin (1926-2009) played the leading role opposite leading lady Judy Holliday in "Bells Are Ringing". He won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his 1957 Broadway performance in that musical. Adolph Green (1914-2002) co-wrote the screenplay & lyrics with Betty Comdon for the musical.
