The Chicago Public School system survived the brunt of the Covid-19 pandemic, but not unscathed. As 15-year-old Oliver’s impoverished school district emerges from the tragedy, countless things are revealed. A new apathy among students, increased administrative corruption, limited disability support and a new school-wide staunch distaste for creativity. As Oliver navigates the shattered system, a question comes to light. How can such a corrupt school system assist such an exhausted and divided community?
