Illustrated from the Ashmolean's collections of twentieth-century sculpture, this book continues the series of Ashmolean Handbooks, edited by the Director of the Ashmolean, Dr Christopher Brown. It provides a context in terms of the Ashmolean's world-famous collection of antique and renaissance sculpture and the development of twentieth-century sculpture as a whole. It makes accessible for the first time many pieces by, among others, Epstein, Frink, Maillol, Moore, Underwood and Zadkine.
Biografía del autor
Katharine Eustace is Assistant Keeper of Sculpture and Twentieth Century Art in the Museum's Department of Western Art, and a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries. Her publications include 'Michael Rysbrack, Sculptor 1694-1770, Twentieth century paintings in the Ashmolean Museum' and 'Underwood's Children: The Wood Engraving of Gertrude Hermes and Blair Hughes Stanton'.
