Inhaltsangabe

Every year thousands of families adopt adult dogs, whether from friends, relatives, or from a rescue home. Few, however, understand the specific problems of an older pet. Behaviour can be affected by genetic factors, a dog's early socialisation, environment and training - or lack of it - as well as disease. In "Old Dog, New Tricks", David Taylor provides a fascinating insight into animal psychology, and explains how you can learn to communicate more effectively with your pet to create the perfect partnership. By learning how to be a good owner, how to assess your dogs problems, talk and listen to your dog, the essential ingredients for a well-behaved dog and step-by-step obedience exercises, you can prevent and solve all types of problem behaviour. David shows that with a bit of understanding all dogs can be well behaved and you really can teach an old dog new tricks!
