Increasingly, nurses have to perform managerial work in addition to direct patient care. Basic training does not prepare them for this - a fact which more and more recognize with growing concern. "The Essentials of Nursing Management" is a series designed to solve this problem, and to allay managerial anxieties. It is aimed at nurses and midwives in the hospital in the community and in education, who already have to shoulder some managerial responsibilities, or who are starting post-basic courses or managerial and supervisory skills courses.
