Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Norman Maclean (1902-1990), woodsman, scholar, teacher, and storyteller, grew up in the Western Rocky Mountains of Montana and worked for many years in logging camps and for the United States Forestry Service before beginning his academic career. He was the William Rainey Harper Professor of English at the University of Chicago until 1973.

Near fine in slightly used dust-wrapper. Norman Maclean's famous novel of Presbyterian angst and flyfishing and indeed one of the best-known angling books ever written. This edition was reprinted from Barry Moser's 1989 Pennyroyal Press edition, though in a smaller format. The publisher later (about 1992 and possibly to coincide with, or as a result of, the release of the film) reprinted the original 1976 version, which included two other short stories, but retained the 1989 ISBN.
