Rare autograph note signed by German-American actress Marlene Dietrich to baseball legend Joe DiMaggio. The note accompanied an 18-page Astrological Horoscope report by Hollywood astrologer Carroll Righter which Dietrich arranged to have made for DiMaggio. Signed by Righter at the conclusion of the report and with an additional inscription by Dietrich which reads, "M. Righter does not know your name. If you should want to ask him anything specific you must refer to your birth date and place. M." A close friend of DiMaggio's, German-American actress Marlene Dietrich spent most of the 1950s to the 1970s touring the world as a marquee live-show performer. She received several honors from the United States, France, Belgium, and Israel and in 1999, the American Film Institute named Dietrich the ninth greatest female star of classic Hollywood cinema. Nicknamed "Joltin' Joe" and "The Yankee Clipper", American baseball legend Joe DiMaggio is widely considered one of the greatest baseball players of all time; perhaps best known for his 56-game hitting streak of 1941, a record that still stands. At the time of his retirement after the 1951 season, he ranked fifth in career home runs (361) and sixth in career slugging percentage (.579). He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1955, and was voted the sport's greatest living player in a poll taken during the baseball centennial year of 1969.
