Signed by Berni Wrightson on the title page. Additionally signed by Wrightson on the recto of the tipped in copyright page. A special edition bringing new life to Mary Shelley's vision. The publisher states, "Berni Wrightson's genius in visualizing the macabre has long been praised by fans of both horror and fine artwork. Harking back to the style of the early nineteenth-century woodcuts and steel engravings, Wrightson has produced more than forty stunning pen-and-ink drawings, each one a small masterpiece." Wrightson (1948-2017), whose career creating horror art spanned over 45 years, is most known as the co-creator of the muck creature in Swamp Thing. In addition, he worked on a variety of mystery and anthology titles for DC Comics and its main rival, Marvel Comics.
