Lars A. Carlson, MD, FRCP, is the research professor emeritus at the Karolinska Institutet and the director of the Lipid and Hypertension Clinic at Sophiahemmet, in Stockholm, Sweden. He has been the president of the European Society for Clinical Investigation and European Atherosclerosis Society and has published more than 500 scientific articles on subjects including clinical lipidology and atherosclerosis.
