R. M. Francis, MBChB, FRCP, is a professor of geriatric medicine at the University of Newcastle and a consultant physician at Freeman Hospital. He is a committee member of Falls Prevention and Bone Health Section in the British Geriatrics Society. In addition to supervising research programs examining the pathogenesis, sequelae, and treatment of osteoporosis in men and women, he serves as an editor for the journal Age and Ageing.
