Reseña del editor:
The Rupa Book of Indian Love Stories presents immortal love legends and ballads hailing primarily from the Punjab, Kathiawar and Rajputana region of India. A mix of happy and tragic stories, these love stories have been picked from Charles A. Kincaid's Tales of Old Ind. His re-tellings of these stories about sweet romances between princes and princesses, gallant knights and damsels in distress and star-crossed lovers beautifully captures the evergreen charm of such literature. The tales are extraordinarily mixed in character. Some emit a strong Sindhi or Gujarati flavour while others suggest a Rajput or even an Arabic influence. Whatever the origin of the tales, they form an integral part of the romantic ballad literature of India.
