S. Mathur, D.Litt. is an author, editor and international speaker on subjects like social, labour, industrial, economic and peace issues. He has chaired and addressed several national and international seminars and academic gatherings in Sri Lanka, U.S.A., U.K., Netherlands, South Korea and Japan. He has to his credit nearly five dozen articles on Gandhiji and peace; published in India and abroad. He has more than twenty books to his credit. Some of his notable publications are 'Economic Thought of Mahatma Gandhi', 'Ailing World and Gandhian Alternatives', 'Peace, Non-violence and World Order' and 'Indian Working Class Movement'. His article entitled 'World Order: Gandhi's Concepts and Contributions' finds place in the 'World Encyclopaedia of Peace' (Pergamon Press, 1986).
