The Muslim women in India Face a host of problems. It is generally believed that these women face only of Legal Nature and that if Muslim Personal Law is reformed, i.e., triple divorce and polygamy abolished, everything will be all right for them. He is a champion of inter-faith and communal harmony and has received several awards for his studies in these fields. He was awarded D. Litt by Calcutta University for his work on communal harmony and was recipient of the first award on communal harmony, given by Foundation for Communal Harmony, set up by the Government of India. Recently, he was also awarded Hakim Khan Sur National Integration Award by Maharana of Udaipur.
