The book mainly focuses on the occupational health of the tea workers working in the tea gardens of Upper Assam,including the medical facilities available in the tea gardens as well as the precautions taken to prevent ill-health of the workers The book also deals with the environmental difficulties that the workers face due to their varied working conditions which include working in the fields as well as inside the tea factories. The study also provides a picture of the job satisfaction levels of the tea workers. Dr. Parijat Borgohain teaches Geography at Cotton College, Guwahati. She completed her M.A. in Geography from Gauhati University specializing in Social Geography. She obtained her Ph. D. in Geography in 2006. Dr. Borgohain has worked in research projects, authored a few books and has presented her research findings in international conferences.
