For the last 5 years of her life, my own mother suffered dementia, so as a means of raising funds for the Alzheimer s Society I cannot recommend Jeff Thorburn s book highly enough. We know that with Desert Island Discs the subject gets to choose a book to take on the island, but the programme is predominantly to do with musical choice.
