Wang Weiguang is a member of the Academy of Social Sciences. Now he also a Deputy Secretary of the Party and Executive, Vice-President of College in Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and once held the position of Principal of Party School of the CPC Central Committee. He is the candidate in Seventeenth CPC Central Committee, one of representatives in the Sixteenth and Seventeenth National Congress and the Tenth People's Congress, the committeeman of Law Committee under National People's Congress, and the Director of Study of Marxism Foundation in China, the president of Chinese Dialectical Research Seminar and Deng Xiaoping Theory Research Seminar as well as the Chief Professional in Marxism Theory Research and Construction Project Consulting Committee. In 1987, he won the honorary title of Chinese Doctorate Degree Recipient for Prominent Contribution awarded by the State Council.
