Like China Jack, Karl Lassiter could best be described as a “drifter.” He has traveled all over Texas as well as New Mexico—the latter where he currently resides. Using these colorful and rich locales as the backdrops for his novels, such as Drifter, which was nominated for the New Mexico Book Award, Lassiter continues to craft lyrical tales of times long gone.
