(recto publisher's note, verso contents), [i] (blank) followed by 25 airs, each with a page of engraved music facing a page of letterpress text numbered 51-75. Set 3 with airs 51-75 of 110 in total in four sets. Frontispiece illustration of air 51, John Anderson My Jo, engraved by Paton Thomson after D. Allan, published by T Preston in March, 1799. Signed by the publisher G. Thomson at lower outer corner of title, with number [third] of set completed in his hand. With an additional contemporary signature to upper margin ("Penuet Grant"). Slightly worn and browned; title and frontispiece slightly foxed. First Edition. RISM K1402. BUC p. 1006. "Kozeluch was one of the foremost representatives of Czech music in 18th-century Vienna. His influence as a pianist and piano teacher was such that early contemporary accounts praised him for helping in the development of an idiomatic piano style and for discouraging the use of the harpsichord in favour of the piano. As a composer he devoted himself almost exclusively to secular music (his sacred compositions are mostly arrangements of secular works). His chief interest lay in piano music sonatas, piano trios and concertos but he wrote almost as much symphonic and vocal music; he also composed for the stage, though most of his ballets and all but one of his operas are lost, making his achievement difficult to assess."
