Oblong folio (24 x 35cm). 259 pages. A charming reduction for solo piano without vocal line, as was fashionable at the time for home playing, of this hugely popular work from the height of its fame (it was the most performed opera in Italy between 1838 and 1848). Bound in half brown leather with blue marbled boards, the boards very worn and lacking their leather corners, but the backstrip has retained its beautiful polished leather appearance, with decarotive gilt tooling, gilt title and raised bands. Somewhat foxed throughout, with occasional pencil markings.
