She is also an Associate at Oxford Mindfulness Centre, University of Oxford. This book draws on the exercises that Sian uses regularly in her teaching. Sian is also the lead author of the study: An Evaluation of Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting Courses for Pregnant Women and Prospective Fathers/Partners within the UK NHS. Midwifery, 2018. This important study evaluated the health benefits that mindful practice brings to pregnant women and to their partners.

The 30 exercises include: mindful breathing; advice on keeping a pregnancy journal; simple practices for early pregnancy; simple tools for practicing mindfulness, mindful parenting and mindful motherhood. "How to have a mindful pregnancy is a great guide for pregnant woman. The book is clear and easy to understand, and will be helpful for anyone that is wanting to try mindfulness. Having seen many women through their pregnancies as an acupuncturist and mindfulness coach and doula I understand the value of having a book like this available to women. The mindfulness scripts will really help women to lower their stress levels and connect with their baby’s. I highly recommend it." Becks Armstrong BHSc, Women’s health specialist acupuncturist, mindfulness coach and doula.
