A collection of six uncommon first edition cookery books from Madame F. Nietlispach, all with fantastic colour plates, and including two in the very scarce original dust wrappers. The first editions.A six volume set. This set includes; "Pies, Pastries, Cakes Puddings & Sweets" (c1933), "Egg, Flour Rice and Cheese Dishes" (1932), "Fish, Game and Poultry" (1933), "Cold Dishes and Hors-D-Oeuvre: The Delight of the Housewife" (1932), "Two Hundred Dinners" (1933), and "Vegetable and Fruit Dishes" (c1932). Illustrated with a colour frontispiece to all, and thirty-six plates, most in colour, to "Pies, Pastries". Seventeen plates, most in colour, to "Egg, Flour". Fifteen plates, most in colour, to "Fish, Game". Collated, lacking one plate. Sixteen plates, most in colour, to "Cold Dishes". Sixty-two coloured plates to "200 Dinners". Collated, complete. Thirteen plates, most in colour, to "Vegetable".This collection features six fantastic cookery books from Madame F. Nietlispach, full of recipes for a range of cuisines and occasions. Bookplate of Martin & Pamela Finch to the endpapers. The Finch couple founded Matthew Finch Design Consultants Limited, a graphics group which specialised in design for print and publishing. They opened an antiquarian bookshop, Wadard Books, in 2001.All works undated. Dated by copies held institutionally. In the publisher"s original cloth, with the original unclipped dust wrappers to two volumes, lacking the dust wrappers to the rest. Externally very smart with minimal edge wear, and fading to the spine to four volumes. Damp staining to the rear board to 'Fish'. Bookplates to the front endpapers. The wraps are sunned to the spines, loss and small closed tears to the extremities repaired with archival tape, and slight marks. Internally firmly bound to most with one plate disbound but present to "Fish, Game". Pages clean and bright. Very Good.
