Artikelbeschreibung des Verkäufers

Seven (of eight) inserted plates, lacking the Stanhope Press frontispiece. With an inserted leaf, numbered 506*-507*, between pp.505 and 506, and a 32-page appendix of specimens of printing types at end. Many illustrations within the text. With an index. Modern blue buckram with printed spine label. Excellent series of type specimens from both Fry and Caslon foundries. Title-page a bit soiled and chipped. On the whole, very good condition. The specimens are: Fry & Steele printer's flowers (29 pages); Fry & Steele Printing Types (19 pages), and Caslon & Catherwood Printing Types (10 pages). The book itself is based on J. Smith, The Printer's Grammer, 1787.
