Full panelled and decorated black leather, 16mo ( 5.4 x 3.5 inches ), all edges gilt, pp.188, 128. The first part of the book is the songs with their musical scores, the second part at the rear the lyrics. Marbled endpapers. The spine is attractively decorated with a repeating floral motif in five small panels and the title ; the covers each have a plainer large double panel pattern. The binding is a little worn to the corners but generally nice and clean, sound, and with reasonably bright gilt. There is a name in pencil on the front endpaper, a name and address in pencil on the next blank prelim copied below it in a more childish hand but again in pencil. There is a little faint pencil marking on the title page, and another childish name and address in pencil on the rear blank endpaper. Other than a little browning and / or slight foxing in places the text is clean and tight. There appears to be a loss of a rear endpaper after the last of the text pages, but the text is complete ( checked via the index ). Attractive book of Scottish historical music interest, not common. VG Size: 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
