Overlapping wrappers (a different colour for each number); the first one lacks the ribbon-binding (the others are saddle-stapled); edges a little chipped and creased, with a few short tears; top margin of the wrappers of the last number are a little waterstained, causing the red dye to run and lightly stain the top margin of the first and last leaves; occasional offsetting and foxing, with the paper tending to discolour; trifling signs of age and use; overall a very good run. A rare Australian poetry magazine, with each number limited to 500 numbered copies. The first one is out of series; the other three, with individual titles ('The Book of the Opal'; 'The Shadow on the Hill'; and 'Fire o' the Flame') are numbers 152, 122 and 441 respectively. Contributors include Lionel Lindsay, Max Klinger, William Blake and Raphael (the four frontispieces), Chris Brennan, Bernard O'Dowd, Louis Esson, John Le Gay Brereton, Jessie Mackay, Enid Derham, Elinor Mordant, and Marie Pitt.
