Illustrated with numerous facsimile plates at rear, and a frontispiece facsimile of a letter from Elizabeth I to Edward VI. Contemporary deep blue half morocco, with raised bands, gilt titles to spine, and matching cloth over boards. Top edge gilt, others untrimmed, with marbled endpapers. Library bookplate to front pastedown, and purple ink library stamps to frontispiece, title page, and all plates. A library mark also to copyright page. Bookplate to rear pastedown states 'Donation from Samuel Davey.' Moderately toned throughout, with a light tobacco scent. Spine heavily toned and rubbed, with a library shelf-mark to the foot, and extensive re-colouring. Bumping and re-colouring to corners. Good.
