With the tragic background of my mother's early trauma and the presence of sailors on both sides, my early life in Connecticut gave me an appreciation for the sea and a sense of psychological issues. My family was comprised of Greeks on the one hand and stoic New Englanders on the other. My parents separated and had a tumultuous marriage at times. However, the book goes through my dealing with this and the ways I coped and endured. Leaving home for college brought new challenges and eventually a relationship that felt real and sufficient. Eventually culminating in a Ph.D., I enjoyed a career providing therapy. With God often nearby, I stunned my wife by converting to Catholicism. Later I was ordained a deacon. Our family of three children is strongly present with numerous stories of the highs and lows of family life. The book closes with a return to the east coast from Indiana. Throughout the book, the sound of the anvil makes known God's presence.…
